Both nurse practitioners have already started in Shelburne and Digby while the family practice nurses are expected to be in place by summer.
It is costing the government $3.6-million.
Other positions were also announced in 10 other communities including Windsor, Truro, Dartmouth and Cape Breton.
People who need a primary health care provider should register themselves on the provincial list by clicking here or by calling 811, Monday through Friday between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m.
The practices will contact people on the list as they start taking on new patients.
